A big finish to 2022

Posted by admin

As we move through our final day of 2022 its worth looking back on what has been a massive end to 2022 for R.W. Corkery. In breaking down our major achievements below, which we are very proud of, it is possible to gloss over the everyday contributions and efforts that have continued to be fulfilled throughout the last few months and we need to thank the whole RWC team for what has been another challenging and successful year, thank you.

Major Long Term Projects Delivered:

– Bowdens Silver Project: The Bowdens Silver Project has been referred to the Independent Planning Commission (IPC) for determination with the Department of Planning and Environment recommending approval of the Project. A hearing is expected to occur early next year.

– Dargues Gold Mine MOD 5: The Department of Planning and Environment has approved Modification 5 to the Dargues Gold Mine. This modification allows for the construction of a 180ML Water Storage Dam, emergency trucking of water to the Mine Site, and an increase in production from 355,000t tonnes per annum to 415,000 tonnes per annum.

– Tomingley Gold Mine MOD 7: The Department of Planning and Environment recently approved the construction of the Northern Ramp for the Wyoming One Open Cut, allowing for continued safe and effective access to exiting underground operations.

– Howlong Quarry Extension Project: This project was approved on 16 December 2022, providing access to 300,000tpa of sand and gravel materials. The Project will continue its supply of construction materials to the Riverina region and within Victoria, including materials required for flood recovery works.

Chatswood Office Now Live

As of 9 January 2023 RWC will be live in our Chatswood office complete with new office fitout, server relocation and a moving of an office we resided at for 14 years. In the lead up to December 2022, this has been a huge task and to be honest still some unpacking to do but a proud achievement with very little business disruption in amongst what has been a hectic period of delivering for our Clients.

Farewells and Welcomes

Sadly, we farewell both Lynette and Sam who finish up today from our Admin team. Both Lynette and Sam will be sorely missed, they genuinely were and will always remain part of our team and personalities we cherish. During their time with RWC both Lynette and Sam worked hard, could always be relied upon and contributed to improve our business. Sam and Lynette are both moving onto exciting new opportunities and careers and we wish them all the best.

9 January will also see a group of new faces along with one familiar face in our brand-new Chatswood office. We will welcome 3 new Graduate Environmental Consultants in Tailey, Leilani and Sophia. All three are fantastic high quality graduates and we feel both privileged and excited to bring them on board. Krystal will also be returning from her travels and adventures to re-join our Admin team, we already know how great Krystal is and happily welcome her back into the team.

Achieving all we have as a business is not possible without the help of many within and external to RWC, a big thanks to all involved and especially a huge thankyou to our wonderful staff, our loyal clients and to the many businesses and organisation that we work with every day.

Have a fantastic and safe festive break and from all of us at RWC we look forward to seeing you in 2023.

The Team at RWC.
