Tritton Copper Mine Receives Approval for Modification 5
Posted by admin
The Tritton Copper Mine, operated by Straits Resources and located approximately 45km northeast of Nyngan in western NSW, recently received approval for Modification 5 to its development consent. The modification permits:
- an increase in the maximum height of the surface Waste Rock Emplacement;
- importation of ore material from the proposed Avoca Tank Mine and elsewhere; and
- exportation of crushed waste rock from the Mine for use by road authorities and others.
The application to modify the development consent was prepared by RWC and continues a long and proud association with Straits Resources and the Tritton Copper Mine, with RWC preparing the original Environmental Impact Statement in 1998. RWC is proud of this and other mining operations in western NSW that provide much needed employment and economic activity in the region.
RWC provides high quality, practical and robust advice to our Clients, including Straits Resources, to help them achieve the best possible environmental outcome in the most cost effective and efficient manner possible. We look forward to continuing to work with Straits Resources to ensure the long-term future of this and the Company’s other operations.
