Tomingley Gold Mine Proposed Minor Modification

Tomingley Gold Operations Pty Ltd (a subsidiary of Alkane Resources Ltd) engaged R.W. Corkery & Co. Pty Limited to prepare an Environmental Assessment to support an application to modify the Project Approval for the Tomingley Gold Mine. The Proposed Modification provides for a minor widening of the outer perimeter of the Caloma Open Cut and use of the additional overburden to enhance an amenity bund which is positioned between the Caloma Open Cut and Tomingley village. The Environmental Assessment has confirmed that the modified operations would result in a reduction in the noise levels received at residences within Tomingley and would not result in any additional adverse impacts on the local environment. The Environmental Assessment will be on public exhibition until 2 February 2015.
