24/7 Defibrillator For Brooklyn
Posted by admin
What if you had a Heart Attack and an ambulance was not immediately available? What if access to a defibrillator or AED was all you needed to survive?
Visitors to and residents of Brooklyn, on the beautiful Hawkesbury River, currently don’t have access to an AED that is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Brooklyn has been one of the nerve centres of RWC’s business for more than ten years. As a result, we are very pleased to be able to assist the volunteer-run Brooklyn Community Defib Project to source one of two AED’s to be installed in Brooklyn. We hope that they never get used, but if it is needed it may just save a life.
An Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is used to help those experiencing sudden cardiac arrest. It’s an easy-to-use medical device that can analyse the heart’s rhythm and, if necessary, deliver an electrical shock, or defibrillation, to help the heart re-establish an effective rhythm.
