Posted by admin
RWC is pleased to announce that the Western RegionalPlanning Panel has approved development consent DA 2019/36 for the continuationand extension of extraction operations at the Macquarie Manor Quarry, which islocated approximately 7km northeast of Narromine.
The existing Macquarie Manor Quarry has operated for a number of years and has been operated by the current owners, MA and SN Montgomery, since they purchased the property in October 2016. The existing quarry produces crushed granite and sedimentary rock material for local markets. The approval of DA 2019/36 will enable operations to scale up to an average production rate of 150 000tpa, with a maximum rate of 500 000tpa, to supply crushed hard rock products for the construction of the Inland Rail Project and other construction projects in the Narromine Local Government Area.
Material will be transported from the Quarry using a range of vehicles, with the largest vehicles being Type 1 A-double road trains and B-double semi-trailers.
At the completion of extraction, the final land-form would comprise a fenced and screened internally draining Extraction Area with water storage in the western section, vegetation established on terminal quarry benches, and a re-vegetated eastern section.
RWC congratulates MA and SN Montgomery on reaching this important milestone.
