Dargues Gold Mine Modification 3 placed on Public Exhibition

15 July 2015

RWC successfully worked with the Proponent, Big Island Mining,  to undertake an extensive review of the Dargues Gold Mine Project to bring certainty to a work force of approximately 100 people and economic activity to an area of NSW with enormous potential.  The Environmental Assessment represents the results of a long period of close, thorough and productive work  culminating in the Department of Planning and Environment placing the document on public exhibition from 15 July to 26 August 2015.

The Modification seeks approval to extend the life of the Mine, construct a new waste rock emplacement and crossing over Spring Creek, an enlarged Tailings Storage Facility and undertake final processing of gold concentrate on site using a conventional carbon-in-leach processing plant. The assessment conclusions are the result of very extensive and detailed work by a range of experts, including in the fields of tailings management, toxicology and surface water management.

RWC’s team is pleased to continue its long-standing relationship with this important and significant Project and looks forward to working with the Company, the Department and the community during the assessment phase for Modification 3.
