The Role

We are currently looking for two highly motivated candidates from a graduate level through to experienced Environmental Consultant. The roles will be based in one of our two NSW offices;

  • Orange, located in the regional food and wine hub of Central West NSW
  • Brooklyn, by the beautiful Hawkesbury River, located on the train line between Hornsby and the Central Coast.

Working with R.W. Corkery & Co you will consult on a broad range of client projects, overcome challenges and look for innovative solutions to deliver positive outcomes to our clients and the communities they operate in. Responsibilities include;

  • Working with a broad range of clients and technical experts to project manage and execute to a high-level of authorship a range of technical documents including, environmental impact statements, management plans and technical reports.
  • Manage the end-to-end engagement for a range of projects including; project prioritisation, implementing structured problem solving, solution development, timeline and budget management.
  • Interpret data from a variety of disciplines, understand regulatory and policy requirements to develop and deliver client focused solutions.
  • Contribute to project pipelines by becoming a trusted advisor for our clients and connecting them with the right skills within the company or our wider family of technical specialists.

Successful Candidates Will Bring:

  • Tertiary degree/qualification in a relevant discipline such as environmental, geology,soil or related sciences. 
  • A genuine desire to work in environmental consultancy.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • A pro-active,self-motivated approach to their work.
  • An ability to research and review documentation, drawing and clearly articulating conclusions and recommendations,both written and verbal.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to network and build trusted relationships with; clients,specialist consultants, government agencies and community stakeholders.
  • An ability to demonstrate judgement, initiative and leadership qualities.
  • Candidates who wish to be considered for the Environmental Consultant position will also ideally bring:
      • Evidence of environmental management, planning and approval experience within the mining, quarrying or related industry.
      • Demonstrated experience/understanding of legislation frameworks and policies governing land use planning and environmental impact assessment.
  • Current drivers’ licence and ability to safely operate a 4-wheel drive vehicle.
